About the role
167 Solutions, a specialist technology recruitment business, is recruiting a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer on behalf of a global financial technology client. The successful candidate will be engaged as an independent contractor to deliver cloud reliability, automation, performance and support across complex production, UAT and internal AWS-hosted environments.
The engagement is based at the client's Midtown Manhattan, New York office, with daily on-site collaboration expected. The indicative day rate is $540 and the contract duration is to be confirmed.

Key responsibilities
• Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Maintain Linux and UNIX systems, Java Spring Boot services and JMS middleware.
• Improve CI/CD, observability, incident handling and production deployments.
• Automate workflows with Bash, Python or PowerShell and apply GenAI tools thoughtfully.
• Collaborate with global client teams; the client may require out-of-hours coverage on a rota basis.
What they're looking for
• Linux support, scripting, Terraform and modern DevOps delivery practices.
• Experience with Java application environments and messaging systems.
• Production incident management, GitHub, Jira and ServiceNow, and high availability.
• Legally authorised to work in the United States without visa sponsorship for this engagement.
