We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployment Engineer to lead technically complex customer engagements from discovery through to production. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, uncover high-value operational problems and turn them into secure, scalable software solutions.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role. You will set technical direction, make pragmatic architecture decisions, write production code and guide other engineers while maintaining strong customer relationships. You will also bring insight from the field back into product and platform priorities.
Key responsibilities
• Own delivery from early prototype through production launch, adoption and iteration.
• Design and build APIs, data pipelines, user-facing applications, integrations and automation.
• Establish robust engineering practices covering security, testing, observability, CI/CD and documentation.
• Navigate customer infrastructure, data and governance constraints while keeping delivery moving.
• Diagnose critical issues in live environments and lead resolution across technical and stakeholder teams.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and raise the quality of delivery across engagements.
• Convert recurring customer needs into reusable product and platform capabilities.
• Communicate technical trade-offs, risks and delivery plans clearly to senior stakeholders.
What they're looking for
• Deep hands-on experience with an open-source stack such as Python, FastAPI or Django, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Linux, Git, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience designing APIs, distributed services, data integrations and cloud-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, automated testing and secure engineering practices.
• Experience leading customer-facing technical engagements where requirements may be ambiguous or change rapidly.
• Ability to make sound architecture decisions while remaining pragmatic and delivery focused.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical standards without losing hands-on involvement.
• Useful additional experience includes open-source AI/ML frameworks, LLM deployment, retrieval systems, data engineering or workflow automation.
