About the role
167 Solutions is looking for a highly experienced Database Administrator to support complex enterprise database environments within a global financial technology organisation.
You will be responsible for database reliability, performance, security and operational support across AWS-hosted Oracle and PostgreSQL platforms.
The role is based fully on-site, five days per week, in Dublin city centre. The day rate is €600, indicative, and the contract duration is to be confirmed.
Key responsibilities
• Administer Oracle 19c and PostgreSQL 17 databases.
• Manage AWS RDS, Amazon Aurora and EC2 database environments.
• Maintain production database stability, performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot high-severity incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Carry out database performance tuning, indexing and query optimisation.
• Manage database installations, upgrades and patching.
• Configure high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Implement database backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN and AWS services.
• Automate database operations using Python, PowerShell and AWS CLI.
• Manage database changes and support application deployments.
• Collaborate with development, cloud infrastructure and DevOps teams.
• Participate in occasional weekend deployments and on-call support.
