About the role
167 Solutions is recruiting a Salesforce OMS Architect to lead the design and delivery of an enterprise Order Management System on the Salesforce platform.
This is a 6-month contract based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working - typically two to three days on site, with the balance remote. The rate is £500-£600 per day, and the client is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
The architect will own the OMS solution end to end: working with the business to understand the order lifecycle, designing the technical architecture across Salesforce, integrating with ERP, WMS, payment and carrier systems, and leading the delivery of the initial release with a delivery team and the client's own architects.
Our client has already invested in the Salesforce platform, so this is a role for someone who can push that investment further - consolidating order processes, raising integration quality and reducing the manual work that currently sits between systems.
Key responsibilities
• Model the order lifecycle - capture, allocation, fulfilment, shipment, invoicing and returns - and translate it into a scalable platform design.
• Design the integration architecture across Salesforce, ERP, WMS, payment gateways and carrier integrations, including error handling and reconciliation.
• Advise the client on platform configuration, data model and automation strategy, and challenge the design where a simpler approach is better.
• Lead the delivery of the first release with a delivery team, working with the client's architects, developers and business stakeholders.
• Establish the technical roadmap for the following releases, and support the client's internal engineering team as they take ownership.
• Drive testing, performance and release readiness, and support go-live and hypercare.
• Coach and mentor less experienced consultants and engineers within the delivery team.
What they're looking for
• Strong OMS or order-to-cash domain expertise - order capture, allocation, fulfilment, returns and the integrations that support them.
• Demonstrable architectural experience across Salesforce plus at least one ERP, WMS or logistics platform.
• Strong integration skills, including API design, middleware, event-driven patterns and resilient error handling.
• Sound judgement on data model, automation and platform configuration - not just configuration for its own sake.
• Evidence of leading delivery, mentoring others and working directly with business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and the confidence to advise and challenge a client on the right approach.
• Must be able to work hybridly in Milton Keynes for 2-3 days per week.
